Twisted Tales

Just as West-Side Story was a twist on Romeo and Juliet and Wicked was a retelling of The Wizard of Oz, authors have been putting their own twists on classic tales since the beginning of storytelling. In this workshop, we will take well-known tales and endow them with alternate endings, create mash-ups, force good characters to be evil and vice versa, and devise plot twists of our very own. Come supplied with fables you’ve always wanted to warp or—for those with inspiration-block—Amy will provide a choice of stories just waiting to be contorted by your creativity as well as some games to get the ink flowing.
